Abstract

Arteriovenous malformations of the head and neck are rare high-flow vascular lesions that present significant therapeutic challenges. We report a 9-year-old boy with a giant cervical arteriovenous malformation successfully treated by staged transcatheter embolisation using detachable coils alone. This case suggests that coil-only embolisation may be a safe and effective treatment option for carefully selected paediatric cervical arteriovenous malformations.
