Complete Discoid Medial Meniscus With Absent Anterior Horn Osseous Insertion Tethered by an Oblique Meniscomeniscal Ligament: A Case Report.

Abstract

A 21-year-old woman presented with chronic, nontraumatic left knee pain and was diagnosed with a complete-type medial discoid meniscus lacking anterior horn osseous insertion, but connected to the posterior horn of the lateral meniscus by an oblique meniscomeniscal ligament as seen on MRI and confirmed arthroscopically.
This represents a previously unreported anatomical variant that broadens the morphological spectrum of medial discoid meniscus. Multiplanar MRI is critical for its accurate identification.
