Abstract

Pelvic floor ultrasound is widely used for the postoperative evaluation of mid-urethral slings (MUS), but reporting practices remain heterogeneous. This expert-based narrative review proposes a practical ultrasound reporting framework for the assessment of MUS using routine pelvic ultrasound and dedicated transperineal/translabial imaging. Suggested reporting items include sling identification, position, morphology, relationship to the urethra, dynamic behavior during Valsalva, and potential postoperative complications. The proposed framework aims to improve reporting consistency, facilitate multidisciplinary communication, and support clinical decision-making in women undergoing MUS surgery.
