Abstract
Organic room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP), characterized by delayed emission, tunable lifetimes, and stimulus-dependent optical states, offers a powerful platform for transforming anti-counterfeiting from static pattern recognition into dynamic, multidimensional authentication. To meet the demands of modern supply chains for high-security, multidimensional encrypted authentication and to promote the translation of organic RTP materials from laboratory validation to practical application, this review systematically surveys recent advances in organic RTP systems across five core encoding dimensions: time-gated decoding, multicolour afterglow regulation, stimuli-responsive rewritable patterning, circularly polarized phosphorescence encoding and AI-assisted hardware security. We establish a unified six-metric application-oriented evaluation framework, benchmark representative multi-component organic RTP material design strategies, highlight key unresolved bottlenecks, and outline actionable forward-looking guidelines. By providing a concise yet comprehensive overview of the multilevel encrypted authentication application landscape, this review aims to inspire further exploration of high-performance organic RTP materials for practical intelligent security scenarios.
