Abstract

Understanding how guessing, cueing, and response bias interact with residual sensitivity is key to interpreting correctly the behavioral responses that are taken as measures of visual performance and awareness in blindsight. It is crucial for determining the extent to which post-lesion recovery of function is due to changes in decisional processes, as opposed to improved sensitivity due to reorganization of early visual circuitry.
