Abstract

A comparison of the representation of American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) people among the working-age US population and among a dozen health professions confirms that the AI/AN population is greatly underrepresented, especially in professions requiring advanced education. For 2018-22, AI/AN representation in eight of twelve professions was less than half their working-age population representation.
