Abstract

Metal-free, non-aromatic supramolecular glasses with long-lived phosphorescence are prepared by dehydrating biomass-derived lysine, aspartic acid and citric acid. The optimized glass shows blue fluorescence and green room-temperature phosphorescence (594 ms; ΦP = 21.78%). A rigid salt-bridge and hydrogen-bond network suppresses non-radiative decay, enabling sustainable processable phosphorescent materials.
