Abstract

Para-N-π-N fusion in a double-boron multiple-resonance framework reveals divergent excited-state character. Moderate donor strength preserves short-range charge-transfer character, affording pure-green emission with a 22 nm linewidth, whereas stronger donor character induces intersegmental charge transfer, enhancing vibronic reorganization. Suppression of this pathway is key to narrowband bathochromic tuning.
