Abstract

The title complex, [RuCl₂(C₆H₆)(C₂₁H₃₃P)] or (η⁶-C₆H₆)((C₆H₁₁)₂( ⁱ PrC₆H₄)P)RuCl₂ crystallizes in the space group P1 with one mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit. The Ru^II atom is located at distances of 2.3830 (7), 2.3925 (8), 2.4269 (8), and 1.6919 (3) Å from the P, the two Cl ligands, and the centroid of the benzene mol-ecule, respectively. A cone angle of 159° was calculated for the steric pocket of the phosphane ligand. Positional disorder over two sets of sites in the methine and one of the methyl groups of the isopropyl substitutent resulted in a refined 0.528 (5):0.472 (5) ratio. The crystal packing is consolidated by non-classical C-H⋯Cl inter-actions.
