Abstract

The 2025 Population Genomics Workshop at the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) convened leading researchers, early-career scientists and students to explore rapid advancements and emerging priorities in population genomics. The workshop highlighted advances in pangenomics, demographic modelling, archaeogenomics, and the integration of population variation with functional and genomic insights. It also emphasised strengthening interdisciplinary collaborations to apply genomics findings to climate-resilient agriculture and biodiversity conservation. This report summarises key methodological discussions from the workshop and underscores their emerging relevance to plant population genomics, biodiversity conservation and climate adaptation.
