Abstract

The article reconstructs activities of N. N. Blokhin, M. V. Kolokoltsev, the founders of the Gorky Institute of Reconstructive Surgery, Traumatology and Orthopedics before the Great Patriotic War and after the Victory. The results of scientific investigations in the field of reconstructive and plastic surgery that lead to design and implementation of the first National dermatome into operational practice are demonstrated. The leadership of N. N. Blokhin in promoting the latest developments and succession of the staff in development of ideas of scientific adviser as a result of realization became basis of scientific researches in founded scientific school is established.
