Abstract

Global efforts to involve men in gender-based violence prevention reveal a complex mix of progress, challenges, and evolving strategies. While men's roles as allies gain recognition, significant barriers remain. Drawing on data from interviews with 26 facilitators from NGOs and municipalities in Turkey, this research explores challenges in three areas: intersectional dynamics, political context, and organisational structures. How the NGOs and municipalities operationalise their promotion of equitable anti-violence behaviours depending on structural factors opens a new avenue to discuss the interplay between organisational culture and the broader political landscape, affecting individual responses to such programmes.
