Abstract
We report two cases of long-term survival with spontaneous urinary extravasation caused by primary urothelial cancer. Case 1: A 83-year-old man presented with right lower pain. Computed tomography and cystoscopy revealed a tumor at the right ureter orifice with extravasation of the urine. Nephroureterectomy was performed. He had survived for 78 months after treatment of distant metastasis. Case 2: A 71-year-old man presented with left back pain. Computer tomography showed lower ureter tumor with extravasation of urine. Nephroureterectomy was performed after neoadjuvant chemotherapy. He was free from recurrence for 48 months.Even if urine containing cancer cells overflows outside the urinary tract, combining prompt drainage, drug therapy, and surgical treatment increases the likelihood of achieving long-term survival.
