Abstract

Acupuncture is an internationally recognized complementary approach in comprehensive tumor treatment. To address the bottleneck in its clinical translation in the prevention and treatment of tumor-related complications, this study, based on the concept of implementation science, proposes three core pathways and directions for future development. First, to construct a characteristic implementation framework of "general modules+acupuncture sub-modules", incorporating core elements of acupuncture such as syndrome differentiation and acupoint compatibility, as well as optional modules such as scenario adaptation and adjustment for special populations; second, to deepen the integration of medicine and engineering, and develop a standardized big data platform for acupuncture and intelligent monitoring and intervention devices adapted to primary care settings; third, to implement a hierarchical promotion system of "tertiary hospitals tackling key problems-community hospitals undertaking follow-up-home settings providing supplementation", and to improve skills training and safety quality control. These measures will promote the standardized and regulated development of acupuncture in the prevention and treatment of tumor-related complications, and provide strong support for reducing patient suffering and achieving the cancer prevention and control goals of "Healthy China 2030".
