Abstract
Background and Purpose: This study aimed to adapt the Therapeutic Communication Scale for Nursing Students into Turkish and evaluate its validity, reliability, and intercultural equivalence. Methods: This scale adaptation and psychometric validation study was conducted with 304 nursing students. The adaptation process included forward and backward translation, expert review, and pilot testing. Psychometric properties were examined using exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses, item analysis, coefficient alpha, and test-retest reliability. Results: Exploratory factor analysis revealed a three-factor structure explaining 60.11% of the variance: active listening, empathic communication, and respect for patient autonomy. Confirmatory factor analysis showed acceptable model fit. Internal consistency was high, and test-retest reliability indicated temporal stability. Conclusions: The Turkish version is a valid and reliable tool for assessing therapeutic communication skills among nursing students.
