Abstract

Dextromethorphan hydrobromide and bupropion hydrochloride extended-release tablets (AuvelityTM) became the second medication to be approved by the FDA for the treatment of agitation in Alzheimer's disease dementia after brexpiprazole. It also became the first non-antipsychotic medication to be approved for this specific indication. In this Editorial, the available data regarding the efficacy and adverse effects of this medication in the treatment of agitation in Alzheimer's disease dementia are reviewed.
