Abstract
In contemporary contexts, there is a noticeable rise in the prevalence of psychogenic mental disorders among military personnel subjected to combat stress. This article presents a rare clinical case of psychogenic psychosis in a serviceman that emerged as a result of combat-related stress. It details the significance of the case, the primary pathogenetic factors involved (such as severe psychological trauma and premorbid sensitivity), the characteristics of the disorder (including acute onset, disorientation, pseudodementia, and puerilism), and the patient's response to treatment. The article emphasizes the intricate relationship between stress-induced changes and dissociative defense mechanisms. Cases of pronounced dissociative disorders that closely resemble endogenous psychosis pose significant challenges for differential diagnosis and therapeutic decision-making.
