Abstract

We report the results of the 2025 Spanish catheter ablation registry.
This retrospective registry included catheter ablation procedures performed at participating hospitals in Spain and recorded in the REDCap database using a dedicated data collection form.
A total of 109 centers participated, reporting 33 435 ablations. Atrial fibrillation was the most commonly treated arrhythmia (14 452 cases), with single-shot techniques being the most frequently used approach (63%) and a marked increase in pulsed field ablation (37% vs 21% in 2024). The remaining arrhythmia substrates remained at similar levels. The overall acute success rate was 95%, the complication rate was 1.6%, and the mortality rate was 0.04%. There was a marked increase in outpatient procedures (33% vs 18% in 2024), particularly atrioventricular nodal re-entrant tachycardia ablation (50%) and cavotricuspid isthmus ablation (45%). A total of 467 pediatric ablations were performed in 38 centers. Accessory pathway ablation was the most common procedure (65.3%), with a 97% success rate.
A similar number of centers participated, with a slight increase in the number of procedures compared with 2024. Atrial fibrillation remained the most frequently treated arrhythmia. Acute success, complication, and mortality rates remained stable. The accreditation process for centers and professionals is well-established, with a stable number of annual accreditations.
