Abstract

The Hippo signaling pathway is traditionally regarded as a key regulator of cancer initiation and progression. However, accumulating evidence indicates that the Hippo signaling pathway is also closely associated with the onset and progression of autoimmune diseases. Dysregulation of Hippo signaling in immune cells may disrupt immune homeostasis, thereby increasing susceptibility to autoimmune disorders. This review summarizes recent advances in understanding the role of the Hippo signaling pathway in immune cells and autoimmune diseases, and highlights the potential of targeting Hippo signaling as a novel therapeutic strategy for autoimmune diseases.
