Abstract
This study analyzes the prevalence and features of clinical manifestations of acute leukemia in the oral cavity in elderly and senile individuals compared to adult patients from different age groups. It was found that the share of acute leukemia among other hematological diseases was 56,1% (202 people), and there were more men than women in all age groups. In the structure of the incidence of acute leukemia, acute myeloblastic leukemia (46,4%) takes the first place in terms of occurrence, the second is acute lymphoblastic leukemia (38,1%), the third place is acute promyelocytic leukemia (10,2%), the minimum number patients are noted with acute undifferentiated leukemia (5,3%). Moreover, most hematological diseases are more common in elderly and senile patients. The most common oral syndromes in patients with acute leukemia in older age groups were hemorrhagic (79,9%), anemic (68,2%) and ulcerative-necrotic (53,3% of cases). The clinical manifestations of various syndromes in patients with different nosological forms of acute leukemia have been identified. The obtained data substantiate the need to increase cancer alertness among dentists for early diagnosis of hematological pathology.
