A new paracortinid millipede genus from caves in northern Vietnam, with descriptions of two new species (Diplopoda, Callipodida, Paracortinidae).

Abstract

A new genus, Vietpetalum gen. nov., of the family Paracortinidae is here proposed to accommodate three paracortinid species from Vietnam: V. marmoratum sp. nov., V. simplex sp. nov., and V. kyrang (Nguyen, Stoev, Nguyen & Vu, 2023), comb. nov. A diagnosis of the genus is presented, and the new species are described. Cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) barcodes are also provided for these three species.
