Abstract

Peripheral-appearing findings during an acute vestibular syndrome do not necessarily establish the etiology of subsequent recurrent vestibular episodes. The emergence of recurrent vertigo with migraine-associated features should prompt diagnostic reassessment. Serial vestibular testing may document evolving vestibular function but should be interpreted in conjunction with the longitudinal clinical phenotype.
