Abstract

Direct cysteine-to-boronoalanine conversion in peptides is achieved using B2cat2 and TPPTS in aqueous DMF/phosphate buffer at room temperature without irradiation. The method tolerates diverse peptide sequences, including methionine-containing and terminal-cysteine peptides, with no detectable epimerization or modification of other tested side chains.
