Abstract

Non-ST-elevation acute coronary syndrome (NSTE-ACS) is often the first clinical presentation of coronary artery disease. Current diagnostic standards rely on invasive coronary angiography (ICA) to guide therapy. Non-invasive coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) may currently be used to exclude obstructive coronary artery disease in low-risk NSTE-ACS. The recently introduced photon-counting computed tomography (PCCT) may further expand its application in high-risk NSTE-ACS patients, as well. This review explores the current and emerging role of CCTA in the evaluation of patients with an established diagnosis of NSTE-ACS.
